what I should tell you

I am a photographer and graphic/web designer, based in Seville (Andalucia, Spain), born in Italy, brought up in the UK.

I specialise in designing and building English language and multilingual websites for European clients (Italy, Spain, France, Poland and the UK so far). My sites are always designed/personalised for the client and are normally based on carefully chosen Open Source CMS (Content Management System) applications including Wordpress and Drupal. I also produce custom profile designs for companies and bands on a variety of "social networking" websites, including MySpace, Virb and Flickr. I design carefully for the web, trying to ensure clean, valid, semantic, search-engine friendly code and css-based site themes that are distinctive, durable, simple and elegant. And easy to use.

I photograph in digital and medium format film. The best description I have heard of my photography was by Max Andersson, who said something like "it looks like you were going along when life stopped you and demanded to be photographed". What this means (to me) is that I try to intervene as little as possible in most photos, capturing the moments when subjects are at their most photogenic and also at their most genuine.

On commission I photograph live music, corporate and social events (especially from backstage and behind the scenes), products in use and people at work. I have photographed for magazines and websites, for photographic manufacturers, corporate clients and for artists.

My graphic design and illustration work has covered print work for company brochures, trade fair stand design, stationery templates, CD/album artwork and catalogue internationalisation (re-working existing documents incorporate translations), but I consider myself to be best at logo and corporate identity design and implementation. There are lots of good logo designers, but I don't know many others who will try to use a logo redesign to save clients money and reduce the complications inherent in any manufacturing and logistics-reliant process.
